Blue, you are pretty. You are fancy. You make really good food. You are a perfect pre-show dining spot with your free valet parking. You are also pricey.
Pricey, and maybe almost worth it. Almost. It seemed to me that the entrée prices were a little high by about $5-$7 each. The extensive wine list was priced about right for a fine dining establishment in uptown Charlotte.
The Amaretto and Dark Chocolate Ricotta Cheesecake could have been too rich, but the Ricotta cut it perfectly. The Beef Tenderloin a la Blue included some of the best risotto I can remember having, and the service was as attentive as one would expect in an upscale restaurant.
Our server was knowledgeable and quick, and was cognizant of our time constraints due to our tickets to a show at Belk Theater, which is an easy walk through the Bank of America building. This is especially helpful on rainy evenings.
It was good, but I’m not itching to go back. There are many other restaurants in uptown Charlotte that are just as good and well-located that are less expensive.
