        Welcome to Light Street Cycles. We are locally owned and operated by the same woman for 19 years. We offer great bikes of all types. We offer sales, rental and repairs, although we do not do frame or metal repair work. We look forward to helping you in the bike selection process as well as assisting you with diagnosis and repairs. We carry many accessories and clothing.

        Services: We are a full-service bicycle repair shop, though we do not do frame or metal repair work. Below you'll find some of our more common services and the associated price. We ask that you please confirm prices with us before committing to a repair. Please call or stop by for services not listed below. * Build Bicycle from Box (No Tune-Up) * Build Bicycle from Box + Tune-Up * Standard Tune-Up- Adjust Brakes & Gears, True Wheels, Lube chain, Grease Seat post, Safety Check, Light Cleaning * Bicycle Overhaul- Complete Tune Up with New Cables and Housing, Overhaul of Hubs, Headset & Bottom Bracket, and Drive Train Cleaning (New bearings not included.) * Drive Train Cleaning * Adjustments & overhauls will be itemized individually. * Bicycle Shipping- Moving? Vacationing with your bike? We box bikes and ship them. If you need us to ship your bike, we will need at least 3 business days between when the bike comes into the shop and when it needs to be shipped. Keep in mind that if this is a time sensitive thing, the earlier you make arrangements, the better. We recommend insuring the bicycle to its fullest value

        Overall

        Light Street Cycles is located in the heart of Federal Hill. The employees there are very helpful with repairing and outfitting bikes, and give great advice on getting around the neighborhood, where good bike friendly paths are, etc. The rent bikes to people visiting from out-of-town, although if you are looking to buy a bike they will arrange that for you as well. They are quite involved with the biking community around B'more and surroundings. They give friendly prompt service too.

        Friendly but Incompetent - AVOID!!!

        I wanted to like Light Street Cycles - it is only a couple blocks from my house, and I am an avid biker. But, after being disappointed so many times, I have finally given up. I have had pedals they attached fall off and had my leg cut, had poorly installed tubes get pinched and immediately go flat, and worst of all bought a bike here and had problems that they refused to fix. They seem friendly at first, but they are completely incompetent and eventually give up standing behind their work. Even Fed Hill residents should avoid this place - it is worth the extra ride to go somewhere else with competent personnel.
