Thai Basil

My entre last night, Shrimp Surprise, at Thai Basil was one of the best Thai dishes I've ever had. To put that in context, I've been to Thailand, many Thai restaurants here in the States, and am an amateur chef at home. So, I'm very aware of good Thai food and evaluating not just the "taste" of a meal but the "flavor profile." There was a complexity and balance to the dish that was wonderful, and with every mouthful I found myself thinking, "boy, this is good." And that was even at the very end of the night when the kitchen was almost closed. The decor is very nice, and our server was good. We didn't feel rushed even though we were the last customers on a week night. We only had two entres (my companion enjoyed her meal, too) but the menu was varied and we look forward to coming back and spending more time there and trying out more dishes. So far I highly recommend the restaurant.

We go there or do take out at least once a week. The food is great. Just enough spice. Good service.
