Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Your child’s provider will need to see your child within 20-30 days after starting ADHD medication(s). It is essential to make your child’s follow-up appointment. This applies to newly diagnosed patients and to patients who have received a medication change.
Mental Health
Lauren Hudspeth, a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, was born and raised in South Carolina. She earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and a Post-Master’s certificate from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Lauren has a love for helping new parents transition into their role, breastfeeding education, and promoting family security through the years. She is a foster parent for Richland County DSS and has a special medical interest in trauma-informed care, mental health, ADHD, and behavioral challenges. She believes that strengthening the family unit can have generational impacts. Lauren and her husband enjoy time with their two children, three doggies, and two Pekin Ducks named Ethel and Timothy.

Lauren Ancona is originally from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Clemson University in Biological Sciences and her Medical Degree from University of South Carolina School of Medicine – Columbia. She completed her pediatric residency at Prisma Heath Children’s Hospital in Columbia, SC. In her free time, she loves being with her husband and daughter, going to Clemson football games, spending time at the beach and participating in events with her local church. Her medical interests include eczema, acne, and ADHD. She loves building long term relationships with her patients and their families and is excited to join the wonderful community at Carolina Pediatrics!
