I have a handyman business. I replaced a 30+ year old Shellback laundry tub pump for a customer, and later that year, replaced my own 30+ year old Shellback pump in my own home. I was back to the same customer for a bathroom remodel, and could hear the Shellback pump kick on. It was very noisy (motor bearing noise). Upon inspection, I could see the shaft below the pump had extensive rust on it indicating the pump seal had leaked. I drove an hour to the Shellback Mfg. company. It had been 3 weeks past the 1 year purchase date on the receipt I brought with me. Shellback would not do anything!!!! Offered to charge me $265 to repair the $259.99 pump I bought a year ago, or sell me a new one for $400+. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I was honest and informed that I installed the pump the day I bought it for this customer. What if I had bought it a month, or more before installing it? What then? Would they warranty it if it was only in service for 11 months, but the receipt indicated I purchased it 12 months ago? I expressed my disappointment, but it didn't matter! They brushed me off! Pitiful customer service and warranty! American made matters why?

I totally agree with John S. This is by far one of the best companies I've dealt with. They do not have a website and you will need to contact them at (248) 544-4600. I've installed a number of their laundry tray pumps. Their products work great, save space and I have never had a complainant.

Best pump on the market. Better yet, best people at this company. I had a minor issue, spoke to someone at the office and when I tell you nice people. I could not say enough about her. Thank you so much for helping me. Buy a Shellback Pump. refer them, refer the company.

This company builds defective pumps and will not back them up. Do not buy from them. I wanted a reliable product installed in my home that was made in the United States. This product is not it. You might as well buy one made in China. These pumps are unreliable, work when they want to, and the company will not back it up. Do not use this company.

Woke up this morning and the laundry tub had overflowed. I looked up the name of the pump (Shellback) and read the reviews about how helpful the owner was. I called this morning, he told me I needed a part that cost under $10.00. I went there to get it, he showed me how to fix the pump (very easy) and I bought an part. I would highly recommend this place. I am amazed at the customer service. I'd give it more stars if that was possible. If you need a laundry tub pump, get it here!!!!

Prompt service, nice people. I bought a laundry tub pump from them 3 years ago or so and it was malfunctioning slightly (cycling on and off continuously while draining the tub). I described the problem to the gentlemen who had answered the phone. He promptly, kindly, patiently and clearly told me how to solve the problem via an adjustment. His solution worked. He also told me to feel free to call him back if what he instructed me to do didn't work. My kind of people. This is the way business should be done.

Good people to deal with. I called them today and the person who answered the phone was a huge help. I had a problem with a pump that was at least 20 years old. It was a relatively easy fix and the person I dealt with talked me through it step by step. Their pumps work good and their people are first rate.
