Kwik Shift Transmissions

My 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4, 228,000+ miles, threw a P1870 code=bad TCC valve. Took truck to popular transmission shop in Dublin. Was told best thing to do would rebuild transmission, at a price of $3000 + tax. Thought that was a lil high in $$$ so opted to shop around. After taking possession of my truck after paying the Dublin shop a hostage (diagnostic) fee of $89, I called Kwik shift. Spoke to Alan and he was up front and said because of high mileage rebuilt trans would be needed, which I knew. Alan's quote from the hip was several 100 dollars less. Savings is savings! Alan said he had rebuilt one in the shelf and added that since the trans would be out, he could also do some preventative seal replacement on the rear engine block. One day turn around, new rebuilt trans, plus some preventative seal replacement, $2700 out the door. $300 cheaper than Dublin shop plus preventative work done! Highly recommended and honest repair shop!
