Harvest Moon Inn

Stan Novak is the owner/chef/catering manager of the Harvest Moon Inn. You may ask, “How can he do so much?”, and the answer is: Terribly. It’s ridiculous to try and manage all of that yourself, and it shows.

I tried to book a Brunch at the Harvest Moon. I contacted Mr. Novak well in advance of my date, confirmed the date and reserved the room with a $200 deposit, a full 5 months in advance of our party.

Mr. Novak made it a top priority to return my call and get that deposit, but once my money was in his pocket instead of my pocket, that is precisely where the customer service ended. I had multiple unanswered questions, numerous phone calls not returned, and several messages ignored.

Ultimately I decided I did not want to do business with this man and cancelled my reservation a full 3 months in advance of my party, at which time Mr. Novak tried to suggest that I hadn’t given him enough advanced notice, and would not refund my $200 deposit.

I tried to argue my case, but got nowhere. Mr. Novak did not respond to emails, and did not respond to written correspondence. I even tried to get the Hunterdon County Office of Consumer Affairs involved and guess what? Mr. Novak ignored them as well.

Stan Novak might be a good chef (I’ll never know, because the Harvest Moon will never get MY patronage), but I can tell you he is a terrible business man and a rotten person.

I hope it was worth $200 to Mr. Novak for him to have me tell everyone who will listen to NEVER do business with The Harvest Moon Inn.
