Utah's Mattress & Custom Log and Barnwood Furniture Specialist's for more than 50 Years!

General Info
Ralph Bradley opened his first furniture store in downtown Salt Lake City in the 1950s. He quickly developed a reputation as having one of Salt Lakes best little furniture stores. In the late 1970's Mr. Bradley decided to focus on sleep related products and built a 40,000 square foot Sleep Center in Murray Utah. At the time Bradleys Sleep Center was the largest Sleep Center west of the Mississippi. Soon Bradley's became known as the premier destination for sleep related products in the Intermountain West. In the late 1970's into the early 1980's, Bradley's sold more waterbeds than any other store in the Intermountain West. Mr. Bradley and his wife had 14 children, many of which learned lessons from working hard at the store. Mr. Bradley later left the daily operations of the Sleep Center to his sons. In the late 1990s after Mr. Bradley retired, one of his sons along with a long time employee Chad Downs took over the business. They opened up a second location in 1991 in South Salt Lake City, which is the current location of the business today. In 1997, the last Bradley in the mattress business left the company to Chad and his wife, Lesa. Together, they are now the owners of the one remaining Bradley's Sleep Etc., located in Salt Lake. As the Water Bed era began to slow, Chad and Lesa focused intensively on updating to innerspring mattresses in the South Salt Lake store. Later, to compete with surrounding furniture shops, Bradley's immediately started to diversify from just selling sleep related products and became a full line furniture store. Today, Bradley's has focused on an excellent display of Rustic and Log Furniture, and work with several builders in the Salt Lake Valley that can customize almost every piece of furniture. Now, Chad and Lesa's son Matt works at the store as a salesman with many other experienced and helpful employees trained to make mattress shopping and rustic shopping an enjoyable experience.

We accidentally ended up at Bradley's Sleep Center when we were looking for mattresses last week and it was a fantastic experience. Chad, the salesman, was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and had a good sense of humor. Excellent mattresses at great prices. I'm recommending them to everyone.

Thanks for the Positive Reviews!

Just wanted to shout out to all of our amazing customers. You don't know how much it helps to see these reviews and that you appreciate the work we do. We are just a family owned business consisting of Mom and Pop, Son and Wife, and three other excellent neighborhood kids. We really try to treat each customer with the most respect and diligent service. In the case of Tim below, we reached out to him on several separate occasions with warranty parts and even replaced his futon frame after the second issue all together. We sell these exact models every week and have never had problems like with him. They are built of solid hardwood and when he called, he admitted to "plopping down on it" which normally would be abuse and not warranties. That said, we tried to take care of him multiple times. I have looked into every invoice which was clearly marked "mattress only" and exactly what he received. We are sorry to hear that he was so disappointed, but this really was an issue with an upset and unhappy customer for not realizing the expensive memory foam mattress didn't include the futon on his original purchase. Here's looking forward to many more years!

I've had my Serta Mattress set for 15 years and went back several months ago for a new one. It feels wonderful and I have had such a great experience both times with Bradley's

I bought a Custom Barnwood TV stand a while back and it is so beautiful in my living room! I love that this store is family owned and each of the family members were so helpful and kind to me and my wife. It is a one of a kind piece that gets a lot of attention. These guys get my 5 stars easily. Thanks again

Buyer beware, do not buy a futon from this store. Zero stars is a more appropriate rating for Bradley's Furniture. I told the salesman I wanted a futon package and paid for what I thought was going to be a futon and mattress, but all that was delivered was a futon mattress, maybe if the salesperson paid more attention to the customer instead of watching sports on the computer he would have got my order right, then when I called back about this I was told I only paid for a mattress($489), so I then paid $140 for a futon frame and they sold me the floor model without telling me. Different parts of the futon frame have broken on 8 different occassions and I was never given a refund for the frame I was only given replacement parts and told to fix the futon myself which is very difficult. Not one time did anyone at Bradleys Furniture offer me an apology for the inconvenience of having to wait for replacement parts to be shipped over from China so I could fix my broken defective cheaply made futon. Bradleys furniture should be ashamed for ripping off a customer with such a product, there is only a year warranty so plan on having to buy a new one after it breaks again. I feel completely taken advantage of by this store and will never use or recommend them to anyone. The brand of futon frame they sold me is called "Coaster" this company should be avoided at all costs, it is poorly made and will easily break and fall apart even if used gently. Don't waste your money or time at Bradley's furniture.

Comment from Matt D. of Bradley's Sleep Etc 8/2/2013 « Hide I will address each of his comments for any other potential customer concerned about our one negative review. This review was left by a past customer that while trying to turn people away, actually helps to illustrate our level of service for a simple warranty issue. Tim Scott (Ron on Yelp.com, real name Aaron...lol) purchased a $489 premium Memory Foam mattress from us about a year and a half ago, followed by purchasing a futon frame to go with it one week following. First, regarding his comment about having to pay extra after the delivery... Tim/Ron/Aaron originally purchased a futon mattress only, which was clearly indicated on his invoice. Both the mattress and frame prices are clearly marked on the floor, yet he asked the salesman to write up an invoice for the mattress. Once on delivery he discovered that it was not the set, he called and complained that he needed a set. His salesman apologized for his misunderstanding and pointed out that the invoice was written as a mattress only, but told him he would be glad to deliver the frame free of cost for his misunderstanding. He selected a model that was out of stock which was explained to him, however, his salesperson said that he was glad to discount the frame as well as offer a free delivery and set up fee and set up the floor model at a discount and offered a free set up to go along with the free delivery. He was happy and we finished the delivery and set up the following day. Now the second issue. Two weeks later we received another phone call that a part had broken on the frame. He also explained that he noticed some discoloration on one side of the arm. Because we gave him a floor model discount, it normally wouldn't be covered, but in lieu of the situation and that he had never been ale to visually inspect the futon prior to us delivering it, we apologized and gave him a free replacement frame. He said that he was more than happy to bring back the other one himself in that he was now getting a brand new frame for the discounted price. All was well. Sadly, this happened on three additional occasions. On another occasion, he broke a support brace, on another... misplaced a bolt (why he ever removed it we cannot figure out!) But, every time he called we happily replaced it for him in that he had a one year warranty. We did ask him about how these braces were breaking as they weren't occurring on grainings or knots, to which he replied "maybe I need to stop plopping into my bed at night" and said he would try to be more careful. We mentioned that a normal business would consider this abuse, but we went out of the way for him because we pride ourselves on better service. We have sold hundreds of these futon frames and have had these issues with this only one customer ever. This frame is constructed of solid hardwoods and has been a great product for us over the years. While it isn't overly pricey ($299, given to him at $150.. Half off)), it is a great value for what you're paying for and has lasted more than 8 years for several customers. We have great customer reviews, but unfortunately will run into a customer or two like this over the years who despite all we can do are unhappy with the outcome. To wrap up the story, a few months ago his year warranty expired. He must have called his salesperson after losing or breaking another part upon which he was informed his warranty had expired, but I hadn't heard of that call. It has indeed been over a year though and I hope this is the last we hear from this customer. We sincerely appreciate all of our positive reviews on yelp and google places as well as the positive reinforcement from our customers day in and day out for the service we provide. Thanks for the last 75 years of business! We look forward to many years to come. Matt Downs Bradley's Furniture and Sleep Center Manager Flag this comment

Wonderful Store!!!

When we first walked in we didn't know what to expect but quickly felt the warmth from the staff and their selection is incredible. We have a cabin in Park City, UT, and found more rustic beds than we imagined possible. They customized a couple pieces to fit the needs of the rooms we have and we we also able to furnish our living room, and dining room at the same time. They truly had the best selection in Salt Lake and Park City combined and their pricing was exceptionally good as well. It was the perfect one stop shop for all of our rooms and their service was great. Would recommend to anyone!!!
