Dr. Sally Bullock of San Antonio Oak Hills Women's Center does not care for her patients. She seemed really nice until she refused to refill a drug she had prescribed me that has the following symptoms when stopped abruptly:
* Brain "Zaps" (electric shock-like senstations in the brain)
* Dizziness, light-headedness, vertigo, feeling faint
* Headaches
* Anxiety, irritability, hostility
* Nausea, diarrhea, digestive upset
* Tremor, hands shaking, nerve tingles, strange sensations
* Fatigue, tiredness, lack of energy
* Visual disturbances
Her nurse was not sympathetic at all and talked to me like I was a child. I missed my follow up a couple of months before due to my busy schedule. I realized there were no more refills and had the pharmacy call Dr. Sally. She refused to refill it, I then called her nurse to enquire why Usually in this case, they give you one more month and call you to come in, especially for a drug that you are supposed be weened from. I scheduled an appointment for over a week away. Her nurse called me back to tell me she still refused to refill. I asked her nurse to ask her to at least fill it until I could get in to see her. She said she would call me back and let me know if she could do that or not. She never called me back.
Do you see those symptoms listed? They are quite real. I had experienced them a few years back when I didn't know any better and I was on this same drug and took it upon myself to stop taking it. I felt terrible, could not get out of bed or stop crying. This drug is not a controlled substance of any kind mind you.
She said the reason that she wouldn't refill me, even through she was well aware of the hellish side effects I was going to have to endure, is because I wouldn't take the new drug she wanted me to try. Because I wouldn't be an experiment to whatever it was I'm sure her pharmaceutical rep (which there is always one there when I visit) was paying her commission on. Because I wanted to use a drug I knew worked, instead of taking a chance of puking my guts up or being bed ridden because the new thing she wanted me to try didn't work for me. I don't have time for that.
I really don't understand what kind of monster of a doctor would put their patient through such hell, when they could at least prescribe enough to make the next appointment. I have an ever changing schedule, and it's busy, keeping up with these things is hard for me, so I have ran out of scripts many times before, and usually if they won't give you another month, they at least give you enough to make the next appointment. I will not be going back to this facility, I can certainly see why their schedule is always clear.
I am day 2 without this script, and I am already experiencing some of the symptoms. It's only going to get worse from here. She even told me herself when she gave them to me how important it was that I don't stop them abruptly, that it was nothing to play around with, that her husband was taking the same thing. So she knows first hand. I don't understand why she would be so cruel. I will be filing a complaint. I see my PCP tomorrow, and I am sure she will help me out, as I told Dr. Sallies nurse, I have a work conference to be at this weekend, and I can't be dealing with the above symptoms and also uncontrollable crying.

Dr Anca is a great doctor, however it is ashamed that she has horrible staff in the front office with attitude problems that are not afraid to show it.
