Kinetic Kids are children from all walks of life who experience the daily struggles of life-long challenges including, but not limited to, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, down’s syndrome, autism, asperger’s syndrome, brain tumors, cancers, or other neurological disorders. Kinetic Kids was established to provide health, recreational, and educational services to these children and their families. Their mission is to provide unique experiences through physical and creative activities in a supportive environment to children with special needs who may otherwise be excluded. Gabe earned his Masters and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from UT Medical Branch at Galveston. He expanded his clinical skill set by becoming a Certified Manual Therapist from the Manual Therapy Institute out of San Marcos, Texas. Dr. Molina has also earned a Masters of Business Administration from UT at Brownsville. He has practiced in a variety of settings, with an emphasis in outpatient orthopedics. Joanna earned her Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) degree from St. Philip’s College in 2013 and her bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Medicine from Texas State University in 2006. Prior to earning her PTA degree, Joanna spent 6 years working as a PT technician here at PRI. She has been with PRI since 2007 (close to 15 years).
Physical Therapy
The state of Texas requires that we receive orders from a Medical Doctor and obtain a prescription for Physical Therapy. We can evaluate a patient without a doctor referral, but we cannot perform subsequent treatments until obtaining the doctor’s prescription.
Manual Therapy
Dr. Bussey received his initial Physical Therapy degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He then earned a master’s degree with emphasis being in orthopaedics and manual therapy from TWU in Dallas and a doctoral degree from MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston. Dr. Bussey is Board Certified by the APTA as an Orthopaedic Specialist. He has served as an adjunct professor at the UTHSC in San Antonio with the Physical Therapy Department and has a particular interest in the spine and sports related injuries. Professional background
