        Established in 1891, the Wichita Falls Police Department provides law enforcement and crime prevention services. The department intervenes in cases of theft, homicide, sexual assault, serious crime, juvenile investigation, domestic violence and narcotics trafficking. It responds to emergency and nonemergency calls for service. It conducts investigations, gathers evidence, and interviews suspects, victims and witnesses. The Wichita Falls Police Department operates patrol, traffic, records, communications, criminal investigations and organized crime units. The department s records division processes and manages criminal records, clearance reports, and search and arrest warrants. It offers neighborhood watch and Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) programs. In addition, the Wichita Falls Police Department organizes several safety-related training programs for the general public. The department is headquartered in Wichita Falls, Texas.
